The Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, Dr Madeleine Tchuinte received in audience a delegation from the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB). The delegation, made up of 3 members of the Organizing Committee, was led by the Director General of the AUB, Mr. Grégoire Ndjaka. Discussions mainly focused on the importance of scientific information and the need to train journalists specialized in the field of science. The delegation informed the Minister of Organization of the international summit on Artificial Intelligence and the media from March 4 to 6, 2024 in Yaoundé.
The approach undertaken by the AUB was welcomed by Madam Minister who says she attaches the greatest importance to the popularization of research results. Also, the Ministry of Scientific Research expressed resolute committed to the development of Artificial Intelligence in Cameroon. It is in this sense that under his supervision, five startups were selected to receive funding from the French Embassy as part of the Startup 237 project. Accordingly, the Minister instructed the Permanent Secretary of the National Center for Technology Development (CNDT) to support the AUB through the expertise of his institute.
